The calculation is an estimate based on the data entered. The contract determines which amount is pegged, what the base index is, which index applies at the time of payment and whether there is an index floor.
How the calculation works
The rate of change is calculated by dividing the last index by the base index and subtracting 1. The result is multiplied only by the amount that the contract defined as pegged. The CBS publishes the index of input prices in residential construction usually once a month.
